How to Adjust your Firewall Settings, InSight, DriveSharp (AppError06)

Instructions for Windows
You may need to add DriveSharp/InSight to a firewall exceptions list. Each firewall system has a slightly different method for adding program exceptions.
The files you need to add are listed below in their default installation locations:
- C:\Program Files\Posit Science\Cortex\features\com.positscience.bfc.feature.cinema_1.0.0\InSight.exe
- C:\Program Files\Posit Science\Cortex\Posit Science InSight.exe

Instructions for Mac
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security, and then click Firewall. (If some settings are dimmed, click the lock icon and type an administrator name and password.) Choose option A to allow all programs. If you would prefer to restrict incoming connections, you can select Option C and add our program to the exceptions list. (see Steps 2-3 below)
- To add an application, click Add (+), and then select the application in the dialog that appears. Example: Mac HD> Applications>PositScience>InSight.
- To change whether to allow incoming connections on an application or service, click the up and down arrows next to the item on the list, and then choose a setting from the pop-up menu.

I added all the files as suggested and it still won't reach the website for registration.

I apologize that we weren't able to resolve this for you. There is definitely something blocking the program from connecting to our servers online. Normally I could offer you a refund, however I see that you received this order as a complimentary offer.

Yes you're right! BUT, it would have been nice to receive the $50 offer from my insurance company....I tried. At least I know now not to order any software from PositScience. I guess it was a blessing in disguise, because I really was interested in the software!

I have XP, added all files as suggested and STILL says Cortex unable to find server. Check internet connection...AppError06. I'm getting REALLY frustrated! Thanks for responding, but it didn't help. I am NOT at work and even tried using NO FIREWALL!

OMG!! I sent customer support my Diagdx file as requested. They told me I needed to update my audio and video files. This has NOTHING to do with my AppError06! They sent me back to THIS fix which DOESN'T fix it!! I give up.

You may also be using another third party firewall installed as part of you security software package. You will need to contact them to learn how to adjust it. -
