Brain Fitness Program
We understand that you may need to reinstall the program, or you might want to train on multiple computers, and we're pretty flexible. You can install and train on multiple computers within your household. If you have a 1-user version, that user can install on multiple computers. If you have a 2-user version, each user can install on multiple computers.* However, once a user has started training, it is not advisable to switch computers because the user data is stored locally on the computer. If you must switch computers, or switch back and forth between computers for travel or other reasons, you have a choice. Either you can go through the training schedule twice, once on each computer, or you can go through the manual process of transferring your user data back and forth each time you switch using a flash drive. We've provided instructions for data transfer for PC here and Mac here, however we don't support this process. If something goes awry, or you need help, our support staff won't be able to provide assistance.**
*This flexibility does not allow more users than the number you have purchased. It does mean that the licensed user can train on multiple computers, or switch computers as needed. If you would like to purchase additional users for your household, please contact Sales at 1-866-599-6463 or +1-415-373-5685.
**It is not possible to transfer data between Mac OSX and PC Windows.
InSight/DriveSharp
InSight/DriveSharp are different than Brain Fitness Program because they are portable.* Your user data is stored locally on your computer, but if you're connected to the internet when you exit your training, the data is also uploaded to our servers. This data is accessible to you from any computer where InSight/DriveSharp is installed. You can install InSight/DriveSharp on any computer you'd like to train on. After you install, you'll simply need to sign in with your existing username and password. The program will prompt you to "Switch Computer" and you'll follow the prompts to download your user data.
*InSight version 1.0 does not offer this portability feature. To switch computers using InSight version 1.0, please see these instructions.

I may have misunderstood, but before purchasing I thought I read that I could isntall my 1-user license on two computers. I intended to install on my office computer and also on my home computer. I don'r recall reading the restriction that the two computers needed to be "within you household".

Hi Graham - Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't been able to solve this yet, however I want to provide you quick instructions in the meantime. To transfer your BFP files, you'll need to copy the User folder located in PositScience/Neuroscience/2_0 from the first computer and (after you install on the second computer) paste the User folder into the same location on the second computer. Essentially you are replacing the blank User folder in the new installation with the User folder that contains your user data from the old (first) installation. I'll update you when I get the full instructions back up tomorrow.

I'm having trouble running the program on my new computer. I was using a laptop and have just purchased a PC with a 23inch screen and there is a problem in relation to text screening. When I click on my username, the 'start' box that displays is small with no option to enlarge. When I click on the 'start' button within that box, the next screen is the one that advises of the distance to sit from the computer but the text is large with much of it off the page. I cannot reduce the text in the usual fashion, there is no way to continue from that page and the only way I can return to the windows desktop is to use controll/alt/delete and use the options from there. Any advise?

Hi Janet - This should be controlled via your screen resolution settings on your computer. The screen resolution is accessible through your control panel. Try setting it to 1024x768 and your DPI to 96.

Hi Arielle, I have tried a few times to do as you've said but to no avail. For a start, reducing the screen resolution gives a grainy texture that, if the program would run, would make it impossible to use as it would be very unclear. It also doesn't solve the initial problem - that after I press the start button, the next screen is so large that much of it is off the page and the only way to exit this is to press controll, alt, delete and go back to the desktop in a roundabout way. Life has been too busy these last 7 months to follow up on this but I would like to use the program I paid so much money for! The difference between the laptop screen and my current one is that the laptop was the old 'square-ish' screen and this, like all of them these days, is a 'landscape' shape. No-one else here seems to be complaining that it won't run on their standard computer - so what's wrong here that I can't get it to run?

My Personal Activation Number will not allow activation of the (almost loaded) software on my new replacement desktop Windows 7 Dell computer. It worked just fine on my old computer - no problems whatsoever. I'm eager to continue my training.

Joyce's problem was related to having an older version of the program (circa 2006) which was resolved by the purchase of a replacement CD of the current version of the Brain Fitness Program. Cost of replacement CD is $19.95.

I am travelling to UK to visit my daughter, and I not taking my computer. Can I take my Brain Fitenss and Posit Science porgams there and use them on her comuter? What happens when I get? I will be away for two months.

I bought a 2-person BFP Auditory for my wife and I. I have installed mine on my Windows XP PC. I wanted to install my wife's on her Windows Vista laptop . I have tried several times but I am getting E:\HiFi_Files\HiFiSetup.exe - Data error (cyclic redundancy check). I have managed to get it through the firewall check but it still will not download on to the laptop.

Hi Donald - It's possible the CD is scratched. Try cleaning the CD. If the problem persists, you may need to purchase a new CD from sales at 1-866-599-6463.

I was intending to buy a 2 user Total Training Package for my mother & myself. However she has a PC and I have a Mac.
As I was unable to find any info that answers my question on your site, I emailed to your customer service address asking whether the software is compatible with both Mac & PC or whether I have to choose one or the other?
In response, I received 2 emails full of marketing info about the individual products with no apparent recognition that I had even asked a question. Unacknowledged auto-responder or incompetent customer services rep?
Either way you have an unhappy potential customer ready to give up and feeling more than a little cynical about the 'Customer Delight Team'...

Regarding your question, each product is compatible with both mac and pc. The InSight CD is multi-platform and the Brain Fitness Program ships with 2 CDs, one for each. (Thanks to Donald for that info as well)

I bought a BFP for two users. I was able to register two users on the auditory program because it asked. The visual program did not ask. I declined initial login conditions because i was going to return it because it requires internet access and i was planning to use it away from internet access. The visual program seems to have taken that initial login user name that i used as well as the second user name by which I eventually logged in. So for both visual users - my bloke and I - are called by my name. Ridiculous! What can i do about it? I have already emailed Posit Science but have had no reply.

hi Frances - Sorry for the delay. I just emailed you individually, but I wanted to follow up regarding your point about the internet. The program requires internet for initial setup only. After you have registered, you can train offline just like the auditory program. The two programs do not share a login system, which is why InSight requires registration of a new username and password using the "Setup New Account" screen. Please let me know if I can answer additional questions.

I purchased the Auditory and Visual programs online on Dec. 16, 2010 as a Christmas gift for my three grandchildren. Online, you can only purchase for two users maximum, so I attached a note saying I wanted to add a third user. To date, Dec. 30, I still don't have this resolved after leaving two phone messages, talking to one person and emailing Customer Service. My g'kids father has set the Auditory program up on two computers so all three children can use it, but this is a temporary fix and does not work for the Visual program. Would like this issue resolved SOON!

I live in Australia and intend to buy 2 user Total Brain Training program. While I have my own personal laptop and intend to install the program on it, my wife uses the laptop provided by her employer, which they change every year. She will install the program on the employer provided laptop. My question is when she gets a new laptop from employer, will she be able to install on the new laptop as well?

My computer crashed. All software needed to be reinstalled following system recovery. After reinstalling the brain fitness program, posit science responds with activation code not defined. Where do I acquire the activation code? Immediately after installing the software, "activation server unavailable" appears. I would appreciate a resolve for this problem. Thank you, BML

Hi Betty - Please call us at 800-514-3975 for your activation code. The server unavailable message is likely due to a firewall. If you temporarily disable it for the activation, it should resolve the issue.

My computer crashed as well. I also got the same messages. I lost pictures of my daughter's H.S. graduation and won't ever be able to replaced. I'm disappointed to say the very least. I disabled the firewall before installing it. I was able to install it the second time and did register. When I try to run the program, the screen just turns black. I cannot replace any of my pictures, all the time I spent talking with Dell techs, and graduate research papers. I really need to talk to a support person at Posit Science who really knows what he/she is doing. EM.

You may download and install InSight or DriveSharp on a second computer using the same link that is emailed to you when you first purchase.

Hi, I purchased the 2-user version of InSight and am not able to install it on the second computer. Installation wizard starts but the "next" button is greyed out when I get to the page where you enter the license. I'm sure the license is correct because I'm using the program on the first computer.

I was using this program on my PC. I really enjoyed it. I now have a mac and would love to continue using it. I had a 2 person program but only used one. However, I don't seem to have a disc or anything to use to install in my new computer. What can I do?

Am I correct in saying that when I purchase a 2-user program I will be able to install it on two different computers and 1 person will be able to train on each computer (seperately), at their own pace without interfering with the other. I would like to use the program for my son as well as for my father. When other members of the family use the program, will this then interfere with the level at which the previuos user was working? In other words, all 4 of us will not be able to use the system?

You are correct in that the 2 user version can be used on 2 separate computers by 2 different individuals at their own pace, without interfering with each other.
This is a 2 user version. You may add more users for $100 per user per program. This way all 4 of you can use the program. Please call me at 1-866-599-6463 if you have further questions. -

I originally installed the brain training software on my PC. I have since purchased a laptop and tried to install the software on it, but couldn't get beyond entering the registration code. I wasn't given the option to click "next." What could the problem be?
